Why Medical Brigades Matter

Healthcare is not as accessible as it should be. For many communities around the world, getting care is not routine, it is uncertain. Medical brigades exist to meet that gap.

They bring real help in real time to real people, while offering hope and relief to resilient communities living through systemic inequities.

Be Part of It.

I’m currently raising funds to take part in a medical brigade in Guatemala in May 2026.

Guatemala experiences one of the highest rates of health inequality in Latin America, with rural Indigenous populations facing the greatest barriers to care.

After Honduras, I saw how meaningful this work can be, and I knew I wasn’t done.

Your support would help me return to work that serves communities with limited access to care.

Thank you for being part of this mission.

Reflections From Honduras

The brigade in Honduras still feels surreal, almost like a dream that passed too quickly. Yet in that short time, it became one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. After months of fundraising and preparing, finally being there felt like a real “mom, I made it” moment. But it was also deeply humbling.

You cannot unmeet the eyes of people whose world feels so far from yours, and yet so familiar in their humanity.

Meeting these communities had a profound impact on me. It opened my eyes to a side of humanity I had never truly known, having been fortunate enough to grow up in Canada. More than anything, the experience made me want to count my blessings.

We came thinking we would be offering something, but in truth, we found ourselves learning from the resilience, humility, and kindness of the communities who welcomed us.

From providing healthcare in the mountains to kicking a soccer ball with children and witnessing their joy, every moment carried a weight and beauty I will always remember.

As someone who strives to do good wherever I can, this experience was deeply rewarding and reminded me of the power of compassion, service, and sincere intention.

Honduras left me with gratitude, perspective, and memories that I will carry with me forever.
